Labette County Community College

Tuition and fees are waived if you verify with LCCC that you are an employee of Tri-County.

Ask Nancy Evans at the Tri-County Independence Central Office for the Employment Verification form before you enroll at LCCC. Your verification of employment with Tri-County MUST BE VALIDATED and ATTACHED to your college enrollment form in order to have your tuition and fees paid for. If the employment verification form is NOT attached to the enrollment form then you will be responsible for all charges.

Independence Community College offers

& Adult Learner Scholarship

& If you are a property owner in Montgomery county you can receive free tuition (still must pay fees and books)

TEACH Grant Program

Provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families. If, after reading all of the information on this fact sheet, you are interested in learning more about the TEACH Grant Program, you should contact the financial aid office at the college where you will be enrolled.

Federal Perkins Loan Teacher Cancellation:
You qualify for cancellation (discharge) of up to 100 percent of a Federal Perkins Loan if you have served full time in a public or nonprofit elementary or secondary school system as a:

& Teacher in a school serving students from low-income families; or

& Special-education teacher, including teachers of infants, toddlers, children, or youth with disabilities; or

& Teacher in the fields of mathematics, science, foreign languages, or bilingual education, or in any other field of expertise determined by a state education agency to have a shortage of qualified teachers in that state.
