The new Text2Speech hardware and software tools for NEO help students convert any written text into spoken words. By installing Text2Speech, a simple-to-use add-on device to any NEO, you enable students of all abilities to expand their learning experience by listening to text at any speed desired.

This interactive tool improves expression, writing, fluency, and grammar—and builds student motivation. Text2Speech is especially effective for struggling writers when used with Co:Writer for NEO. The software can be customized for students of all levels and abilities by selecting settings for automatic read-back by letter, word, sentence, or paragraph, and words are highlighted on the NEO screen as they are read. Additional settings include adjustable read-back speeds, adjustable volume control, male or female voices, and more, for maximized listening customization. Text2Speech also works with NEO’s Spell-checker and Thesaurus features, giving students even more flexibility and confidence in their writing and self-expression. Students can choose to plug in headphones for personalized use, or speakers for communication with others.
